The Government of Assam, in alignment with the national vision under Ayushman Bharat, aims to develop a network of Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) that offer preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care. The CHOs are deployed to deliver expanded services, focusing on community-level outreach.

To be eligible for the post of CHO, candidates must meet the following academic and registration requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with Integrated Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) from a recognized nursing institution.

OR

  • B.Sc. in Community Health (CH) from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council / Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors Council.

Registration:

  • Candidates must be registered with the Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council (ANMHVC) or the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam.
  • A valid registration certificate must be submitted during application.

Candidates who have passed B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from 2020 onwards and completed the Integrated Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) as part of the curriculum can apply. They must furnish a certificate from the principal of their nursing college in the prescribed format (Appendix I) verifying this.

  • Upper Age Limit: 40 years

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years

Age proof should be submitted in the form of a birth certificate, HSLC admit card, or equivalent document.

The post offers a consolidated monthly package with performance-linked incentives:
