Eligibility Criteria & Award Details Eligibility Requirements(NEC)
- Domicile: Must be a permanent resident of one of the eight North Eastern states
- Course Level: Enrollment in a recognized Diploma, Degree, Postgraduate, M.Phil., or Ph.D. program (under recognized institutions/universities)
- Academic Performance: Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination:
- Diploma: HSLC/HSSLC
- Degree: HSSLC
- PG: Undergraduate degree
- M.Phil./Ph.D.: Postgraduate degree
- Family Income: Annual income must not exceed ₹8,00,000
- No Concurrent Scholarships: Applicants should not be receiving any other scholarship or be employed/sponsored .

Selection & Renewal Process(NEC)
Selection Criteria
- Based solely on merit—marks obtained in the qualifying exams (and topic relevance for M.Phil./Ph.D.)
- No reservations based on category, religion, or gender .
- In case of tie scores, lower family income gives preference .
Renewal Rules
- Scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years if:
- You are promoted to next year without backlog.
- Renewals must be applied via NSP annually.
- Changing courses/institutions or failing academic requirements leads to disqualification.
