The key objectives behind launching the Student Unique ID initiative include:

  • Creating a centralized digital database of all students pursuing higher education in Assam.
  • Enabling efficient implementation of government schemes and scholarships.
  • Preventing duplication of student records.
  • Facilitating real-time academic tracking and educational planning.
  • Ensuring accountability in admissions and institutional enrollments.
  • Streamlining processes related to admission, verification, and documentation.

Any student who is:

  • Seeking admission into any higher education course (UG/PG/diploma/professional) in Assam.
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in government or private colleges/universities recognized by the DHE.
  • A new student (fresh admission) for the academic session, or
  • An existing student who hasn’t yet registered for a Unique ID.

Note: Students applying for scholarships under DHE or AHSEC must also have a valid Unique ID.

To successfully complete the online registration process, students must have scanned copies of the following documents:

  1. Recent passport-size photograph (max 100 KB)
  2. Signature (max 50 KB)
  3. HSLC (10th) admit card or certificate – for DOB verification
  4. HS mark sheet and certificate
  5. Higher Secondary mark sheet and certificate (if applicable)
  6. Caste certificate (if applicable)
  7. Income certificate (if applying for scholarship)
  8. Aadhaar card or any Govt-issued ID
  9. Bank account details (for scholarship benefits)
  10. Mobile number and email ID (active and in use)

Step 1: Visit Official Portal

Step 2: Click on ‘Registration Form’

  • On the homepage, click on the option “Registration Form (New Students)”.
  • This will redirect you to the online registration page.

Step 3: Fill Personal Details

  • Enter the following information:
  • Name of student (as per HSLC certificate)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Religion
  • Caste category
  • Mobile number and email ID

Step 4: Enter Academic Details

  • Provide your educational background:
  • HSLC/10th Board Name, Year of Passing, Roll Number
  • HS/12th Board Name, Year of Passing, Roll Number
  • Name of the school/college
  • Percentage or CGPA

Step 5: Course & Institution Details

  • Mention your intended or enrolled course:
  • Name of the college/university
  • Course name (BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BCA/MA/MSc/MCom etc.)
  • Discipline/Stream
  • Mode of study (Regular/Distance)

Step 6: Upload Required Documents

  • Upload the scanned copies of the required documents:
  • Photo
  • Signature
  • Educational certificates

Ensure that all files are in the correct format (JPG/PDF) and within the size limits.

Step 7: Final Submission

  • After verifying all the information, click on “Submit”.
  • Once submitted, a Unique Application ID will be generated.

Step 8: Save & Print Acknowledgement

  • Download and take a printout of the acknowledgement slip.
  • This Unique ID must be used during admission and for all future references.
  • Only one registration per student is allowed. Duplicate entries may lead to disqualification.
  • Students must ensure that the information provided is accurate and matches educational records.
  • Unique ID is mandatory for admission into any course in Assam.
  • The registration process is completely free of cost.
  • Students who have already taken admission but did not register earlier must also register and submit their Unique ID to their institution.
  • Colleges may require the Unique ID before finalizing the admission process.
  • Retain the Unique ID for all official purposes – including scholarship applications, verification, and examinations.

Mistakes or updates may need to be made due to typos or incorrect information provided during initial registration. DHE Assam provides an option for correction or modification.

  • Enter the Unique ID and registered mobile number or DOB to log in.
  • You may receive an OTP for verification.

Step 3: Modify Required Fields

  • Editable sections may include:
  • Name
  • Mobile number
  • Email ID
  • Course details
  • Institution name
  • Address
  • Modify the fields that require correction.

Step 4: Upload Corrected Documents (if needed)

  • If changes are related to supporting documents (like mark sheets or caste certificate), upload the revised documents.

Step 5: Submit the Correction

  • After reviewing all changes, click on “Submit Correction”.
  • You may receive a new acknowledgement slip with updated details.

Note: Correction requests may be subject to approval by DHE officials. You should keep checking the status using your Unique ID.
