BSF Constable (Tradesman) Recruitment 2025 has announced 3,588 vacancies for various trades including Cook, Barber, Sweeper, Wassermann, and more. Educational Qualification & Trade Requirements
  • All posts require Matriculation (Class 10 pass) from recognized board.
  • Specific trades have additional qualifications:
  • Cook, Waiter, Water Carrier: NSQF Level‑I Certificate in Food Production/Kitchen from NSDC‑approved institutes.
  • Carpenter, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Pump Operator, Upholsterer: 2‑year ITI certificate in relevant trade or 1‑year ITI + one year experience.
  • Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper, Khoji/Syce: Must be proficient in that trade and pass the Trade Test.
  • Candidates with multiple trade skills may get preference.
Age Limits
  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 25 years as on closing date (24/25 August 2025).
  • Age relaxation:
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • OBC (Non‑Creamy): +3 years
  • Jammu & Kashmir residents born Jan 1980–Dec 1989: +5 years
  • Children/dependents of 1984 or 2002 riot victims: +5 years
  • No restrictions on number of attempts.
Physical & Medical Standards
  • Height & chest for males (chest applicable only to males):
  • General: 165 cm, chest 75–80 cm
  • ST variations: 160 cm / 158 cm / 155 cm depending on region; chest same.
  • Female height: 155 cm (general) and region-specific variations apply; chest not measured.
  • Medical fitness: Must meet detailed standards—good vision, no knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, color‑blindness check (CP IV), near/far vision, binocular vision, etc. No refractive correction allowed for distance vision.

Selection proceeds through following stages:

  1. Physical Standards Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Male PET: 5 km run in ~24 minutes
  • Female PET: 1.6 km run in ~8 min 30 sec (per some sources)
  1. Written Examination (CBT/OMR-based)
  • 100 marks, 100 questions, no negative marking, 2-hour duration
  • Subjects:
    • General Awareness / GK – 25 marks
    • Elementary Mathematics – 25 marks
    • Analytical Aptitude & Observation – 25
    • Basic English or Hindi – 25
  1. Trade Test (for trades where proficiency or ITI is required)
  2. Document Verification: Original documents for education, trade, age, category, etc.
  3. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): To certify fitness for duty in border/high‑altitude conditions.

Candidates must clear each stage to advance. There’s no interview stage.

Fee Structure
  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹100 (plus applicable GST, some sources mention ₹150 + 18% GST)
  • SC/ST, Female, PwBD: Nil (exempted)
How to Apply Online

  2. Register using valid email & mobile number.
  3. Complete Login → Fill application form with personal, educational, contact details.
  4. Upload scanned documents:
